Planning application allows Bents Garden Centre to expand as part of a £10m development project
Malcolm Scott Consultants Ltd has obtained planning permission on behalf of Bents Garden Centre, which will allow them to expand the existing garden centre as part of a £10m development project.
The development comprises over 5,000m² of new and replacement covered areas plus a 4,000m² mezzanine floor accessed via escalators from a new two storey glazed atrium entrance feature. The proposals include some 4,000m² of canopies and covered walkways.
The proposals include the creation of a new access roundabout and extended car parking for over 800 cars.
Community benefits included in the scheme include a wildlife and ecology garden, educational facilities, children's play area and community allotments.
Malcolm Scott Consultants helped Bents gain community and council support for the proposals through a public consultation exercise prior to submission of the application.
