Success for Malcolm Scott Consultants and David's Nurseries

Lawful Development Certificate granted for use as a Garden Centre in the West Midlands Green Belt

The award winning David's Nurseries has added another accolade, by obtaining a Lawful Development Certificate for the use of its site as a Garden Centre in the West Midlands Green Belt.  Approximately 3,200m² of indoor/covered nursery floorspace and 2,200m² of open sales area can now be used as unrestricted A1 retail space, thanks to an application submitted by ourselves.  In addition, consent has been gained for a further 3,000m² of ancillary buildings to be used in association with the garden centre use.

Building on the success of being crowned the Garden Trade News' Greatest Small Garden Centre for the past two years, and having the Greatest Catering Team in the Midlands, the Certificate will help smooth the passage for future redevelopment at the site and will allow the owners the freedom to develop the site in a manner which would have otherwise been unavailable.

David and Sarah Beauchamp, owners of the Garden Centre, are pleased the effort which they have put into the business over nearly 30 years has been recognised through a formal planning consent.  David said "We are delighted that we now have permission in place which will allow for a broader range of goods to be sold in the future and should allow future development on the site to be easier than it would have been if we only had a horticultural land use on the site."
