Representations to LDF Plans

Representations to LDF Plans

Representation and Promotion of Land in Local Development Frameworks

Local Development Frameworks (LDFs), introduced in 2004, are steadily replacing Structure Plans, Local and Unitary Plans. They represent a change in direction for town planning, away from being solely concerned with land use planning to a much broader spatial planning concept.

We undertake LDF representations on behalf of clients for a range of development. We can also make representations during the local planning authority’s process of evidence gathering, such as employment land reviews, and strategic housing land availability assessments.

We can help identify the issues which are likely to be material to the local planning authority and the Inspector during the preparation of the LDF and advise accordingly. As such, we can assemble a team of consultants to provide the evidence, and collate the necessary technical reports required to support the representation prior to the Examination in Public (EiP).

We can aid the submission of a timely, comprehensive requirement, prior to the EIP, a requirement which has increased emphasis given the new regulations governing such proceedings.

We provide a cost-effective and proportional approach to promoting development according to a client’s need. We can act throughout the preparation of the Local Development Documents, submitting substantive evidence to support a scheme, and act as advocate at the Examination.
