Malcolm Scott Consultants have obtained permission for a an additional 4,300 sq ft of retail space at a Middlesbrough garden centre.
Cherry Hill Garden Centre in Hemlington instructed the team to prepare an application for the additional sales space as part of its expansion plans.
Chris Primett of Malcolm Scott Consultants said: “Cherry Hill is a successful, expanding garden centre, with owners Mike and Peter Wilkinson being very proactive when it comes to meeting customer demands and keen to increase footfall to the site”.
Chris added “We successfully secured permission to add an additional 80 car parking spaces at the Stokesley Road site as part of the centre’s business development plan, a decision which demonstrated Middlesbrough Borough Council’s support of the business, despite its location in an area of high landscape value.
“In putting forward these plans to enhance the sales offering at Cherry Hill, we believed that the authority would once again view them positively as an appropriate use of the space.
“We are always mindful in preparing such applications that they should be sensitive and in-keeping with the local environment, and we are happy to have once again been granted approval on the client’s behalf”.
